Borroloola is located 950km from Darwin and 660km from Katherine via the Stuart and Carpentaria highways (all sealed highways). It is one of the main centres along the epic Savannah Way touring route linking Cairns to Broome. This 4000km adventure drive is the alternate route from Cairns to Darwin and passes through spectacular outback
scenery and numerous national parks.

Situated on the banks of the mighty McArthur River, Borroloola is a fishing hotspot. The McArthur River mouth and the Sir Edward Pellew group of islands offers a wide range of fishing experiences .

Borroloola has an all weather airstrip and is served by charter flights. Regular flights are available into McArthur River Mine some 70km west of Borroloola.

Borroloola has three small supermarkets, three service stations (BP, United and Ausfuel), a health clinic, Police station.
